Meet Robert: Our Newest Auxiliar

Hello! What's up? My name is Robert and I am the newest auxiliar to invade the classrooms of I.E.S. Torre del Águila. I am 23 years old and I have lived the majority of my life in Albemarle, a small town located in North Carolina, United States. I am not from California!

My home state, North Carolina. I live 40 minutes from Charlotte.
When I am not working during the week, I am usually in Sevilla exploring the city and sightseeing. Some of my favorite places to visit are la Plaza de España, la Torre de Oro, and Las Setas because they are famous and historic landmarks. Aside from that, I go out with friends on the weekend and some days I meet with other auxiliares to share our experiences in Spain!

My first time at Las Setas.
Something that most people don't know about me is that I'm an ex-skateboarder, the owner of a YouTube account where I earn extra income, and that I have been a student of Spanish for the last 6 years. I am also a big fan of rap, radio, and urban music, listening to artists ranging from Drake to Miley Cyrus.

I am excited to make a great 2014-2015 school cycle. I hope to help everyone improve their English by sharing my life stories and experiences. Ideally, my main goal here is to show students that there is a big world beyond El Palmar de Troya, and that learning a foreign language makes it possible to travel and see the world.

With this I leave all the faculty, staff, and students of I.E.S. Torre del Águila with a special celebration message:
¡Feliz Navidad y Nuevo Año!

Violence against Women - 25th November

The day November 25th was chosen as the International Day of Violence against Women. This month, students in our school have designed posters and made photographs to raise awareness against this form of violence.

Last 25th November, prizes were given to the students who designed the best photographs. It was a good day to remember that  everyone has a responsibility to prevent and end violence against women and girls.
